BIOGRAPHY

Camille Lacroix
Born in Lille in 1983
Lives and works in Paris

Camille Lacroix is a composer and sound artist. She graduated from the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in scenography and from the CRD of Pantin in electroacoustic composition. Her work currently operates at the intersection of music, visual arts, and performance.

Since 2022, she has been developing a multidisciplinary project inspired by a text by Marcel Duchamp. This project takes the form of a series of sound miniatures, a book (D.U.S.T., 2022), and a series of performances ('Voltage generator', 2023; 'Ventilator', 2024; 'Transformer designed to utilize small wasted energies', 2025). Within this performative work, she designs sound and sculptural devices that transform bodies into living, loudspeaking ready-mades with a low energy efficiency.

She also composes acousmatic pieces, sometimes on commission: 'Quatre hymnes mous' (2023), commissioned by Ici l’Onde; 'Concrétions' (2024), commissioned by Athénor; 'Bouche de ventilation' (2024), commissioned by Motus.

From 2023 to 2025, she took part in a collective composition and improvisation project with Sarah Clénet, Christine Groult, Anne-Laure Lejosne, and Aude Rabillon, based on recordings made in the Saint-Nazaire region, as part of a commission from CNCM Athénor. On this occasion, she was awarded the French Ministry of Culture grant for the creation of an original musical work.

Her compositions have been presented at numerous experimental and acousmatic music festivals, including Futura Festival, Ekhoes Festival, Supersonique Festival, and FF.XP Festival.
Her performances are regularly shown in galleries, art centers, and music venues in France and abroad, including Biennale Son (Switzerland), Le Générateur, MuMa, Le Consortium, Arthouse Jersey (UK), Topographie de l’Art, and Plateforme.
